SPECIAL REPORTS: Very Serious Chemical Release & Fire in NC – Info. on Foley Scandal

Hi everyone,
     
I would like to let you know about some information I have posted on my personal blog; LibertyRocks.
     
Dangerous Fire in Apex, North Carolina –
     
First, there is an extremely dangerous situation right now in Apex, North Carolina which is a suburb of Raleigh. The EQ plant in Apex apparently released several large clouds of Chlorine Gas into the air at approximately 9p.m. Eastern Time last night (10/05). A fire then broke out and there have been numerous explosions. Firefighters and HazMat teams have not been able to get near the plant due to the explosions and chemicals, and a large part of the town has already been evacuated and the evacuations are expanding at this time (1 a.m. Central – 10/06) and the situation is still extremely volatile and serious.
     
The implications of this event will presumably be far-reaching in terms of the environment. Besides the release of chemicals in the air, they are watching the weather as rain could deposit the chlorine gas into the ground and contaminate the area’s watershed.

The Mark Foley Scandal –
     
First, please do not construe the following information as condoning any of Mark Foley’s behavior in respect to engaging as questionable activities with underage pages – he needs to be held accountable for these actions as they are inexcusable…
     
I haven’t been following along with the Mark Foley scandal, but have delved into more research of the situation yesterday as there are reports coming out that the sexually explicit exchanges originally reported by ABC’s Brian Ross as occurring between Mark Foley and a CHILD were in fact exchanges between he and an adult of 18 years of age. This kind of behavior on the part of the MSM – to mislead the public – is also inexcusable, especially so close to an election.
     
The accuser in this case, Mr. Jordan Edmund, has now retained a high-profile criminal defense lawyer – the same that represented Timothy McVeigh. This instead of retaining a trial lawyer specializing in the prosecution of Sexual Abuse/Assault cases. This, IMO, raises some serious questions.
     
To make matters worse, it appears that this specific exchange with Foley was part of a prank that Mr. Edmund and his fellow ex-pages perpetrated. Drudge has exposed this specific information on his website earlier last night (10/05).

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to post a quick note and let you all know that I’ve been very busy over on my other blog.  Below you will see a list of new information I have published at the Liberty Rocks Blog.  Of particular interest to some may be the essay I wrote regarding the Gun-Free School Zone Laws…

I’m working on figuring out a schedule that will allow me to spend a little more time on things in our area, and state specifically, but I’ve been so very busy lately…  I do apologize for that.

School Shooting at Cazenovia, Wisconsin – Principal killed by 15-year-old student

Dear Readers,

Many of you may have heard the horrible news of the school shooting in Cazenovia, Wisconsin at Weston Schools (a Pre-K thru HS public school) from which Principal and Acting Administrator John Klang has lost his life. John was a true hero who was shot 3 times while trying to protect his students and staff from a 15-year-old student who was armed with a shotgun, and a .9mm handgun.  The custodian managed to disarm the student of the shotgun, but the student then pulled the handgun from under his clothing.  According to witnesses, John Klang was shot at least once, and then ran and tackled the student, being joined by other students and staff who eventually got the kid under control, but not until Klang had been shot a total of 3 times – in the chest, the leg, and once to the back of the head. Mr. Klang passed away this afternoon after undergoing surgery at the Richland Area Medical Center, and then being transported to UW-Madison Hospital.

To compound the heartache in the small community, another Weston Schools High School Student was killed this morning in a car accident. He was traveling at a high rate of speed, and crashed. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced DOA at UW-Madison Hospital after being Med-flighted there. His passenger, who was wearing a seatbelt, was treated and released for minor injuries at the local hospital.

Prayers for the whole community for strength and comfort are going out tonight – especially for the Klang family, and the family of the boy who died in the auto accident.

Also, I covered yesterday’s Hostage Tragedy at Platte Canyon High School in Bailey, Colorado. Our family moved here from Colorado almost 2 years ago, but have a friend living in Bailey whose children were at that school, and another friend who lives there but has no children. As far as we know our friends’ children were unharmed, but that whole community is another small close-knit town full of down-to-earth people… It was shocking and hit very close to home watching it all unfold. We lived in Colorado when Columbine happened and I remembered with horror that day as well… It’s been a rough couple of days for our whole country.

Such sorrow over the loss of two very wonderful human beings, by all accounts I’ve read… To see the coverage I have of the Platte Canyon HS tragedy, including an updated overview (from this morning), please see:

    [NOTES: Failed female suicide bomber Sajida Al-Rishawi, 35, an Iraqi, has been sentenced by a Jordanian military court to death by hanging for her role in the November 9, 2005 bombing attacks on 3 hotels in Amman, Jordan that killed 60 people. Six others were tried in absentia and also received the death penalty. Deceased al-Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi had claimed responsibility for the attack. Al-Zarqawi was tried by the court as a fugitive, but the case against him was dismissed after his death in Baaqouba, Iraq this past June. Al-Rishawi's lawyer in the case, Hussein Masri is quoted in the article as saying, "The verdict against my client was expected because neither the suspect, nor her family and party that put her in this position, were able to provide me with any supporting evidence to boost my position," adding that he, "cannot make up the evidence." Mr. Masri will be filing an appeal against the guilty verdict to be heard by the Court of Cassation within the next 30 days. The ruling is expected to be upheld, for lack of contrary evidence. Al-Rishawi originally confessed on Jordanian television after she was arrested stating that she intended to carry out the attack with her husband, Ali Shammari, but her suicide bombing belt failed to detonate. Al-Rishawi argued during the trial that her confession was obtained under duress, and that her marriage to Shammari had never been consummated. Her lawyer had tried to acquire a ruling for a psychological test of Al-Rashawi stating that her family had a history of Schizophrenia, but his request was denied. ST. CATHARINES, ONTARIO – Six people have been decontaminated after being exposed to a unknown substance at Brock University.

Police told the St. Catharines Standard newspaper that a worker in the mailroom found an unknown white substance in an envelope around 10:30 a.m. this morning.

Police say there were notes containing veiled threats in the envelope but are not disclosing any more details.

The newspaper says the people exposed to the powder have been decontaminated, but haven’t left the 12th floor of the Schmon Tower were[sic] the envelope was found.

An ancient watchtower in northwest China, with a history of more than 1,200 years, has been destroyed by a TV production company shooting Kongfu scenes.

The best preserved ancient Tang Dynasty (618-907) watchtower in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region was sprayed black by staff from Guangdong CHS Media Holding Co. Ltd. on a location shoot.

A science teacher was suspended for allowing students to use the same instrument to draw blood from their fingers as part of a class project, district officials said Tuesday.

About 50 students in two science classes at Salina High School South used the same lancet, or small pin, to prick their fingers on Monday, said Carol Pitts, spokeswoman for the Salina school district.

Pitts said there was additional concern that some of the students may have come in contact with blood when they washed the science experiment slides. She said it was unclear what experiment the classes were doing, but they may have been checking blood glucose levels.

He was accused of threatening to blow up the Rice County Courthouse and Law Enforcement Center in Faribault, MN. Weatherford's plea was part of a plea agreement. He now faces eight to 10 years in prison. "U.S. attorney Rachel Paulrose called Weatherford's conduct "an unfortunate incident of domestic terrorism"." According to the article police searched his farm twice and found a pair of propane cylinders with a mix of fuel oil and fertilizer which a lab investigation said was not of high enough quality to cause an explosion. The AP report also states that investigators uncovered 13 firearms, including a .50-caliber assault rifle. Weatherford was prohibited by federal law to own firearms.]

Investigations into the crash, which was recalled by two local villagers who both also recalled seeing human remains at the original crash site.     [NOTES: I used to have a copy of the Guinness Book of World Records as a child. I found it fascinating to read through. Yesterday my kids and I spent some time looking around the Guinness website. There are a wide variety of topical records online to view from the Human Body to Science & Tech records, to "Modern Society" which includes all sorts of information on records pertaining to food & drink, People & place and much, much more. Some video presentations are also available of record holders in all groups. Definitely some fascinating stuff here, and lots of fun.]
