UPDATE – August 13, 2006
The procedure on my neck last Friday morning went well.  I am on some heavy-duty pain meds right now, so there will be not regular posts for the time being until I’m a little further along in my recovery.  I did finish pulling together the links that were missing from this post and this list is now complete.  Thanks for everyone’s understanding! – Michelle

To my readers – August 10, 2006: (SEE UPDATE)
This issue of News Links is incomplete. I will add the rest of today’s links as soon as I am able. I wanted to let everyone know that I will be having a medical procedure done on my neck in the morning (8/11/06) so there will probably be no news links for several days. I am still planning on keeping up to date, and adding information regarding the Heathrow Terrorist Plot. Thanks for your support, prayers, & understanding. – Michelle

  • US DRUG CHIEF PROMOTES RANDOM TESTING IN (UK) SCHOOLS – The Guardian Unlimited – Guardian Newspapers Ltd. – Manchester, England, UK – August 10, 2006
[Note to readers: For the record, I don’t believe marijuana is a substance that should be used by minors, and I do have reservations about random drug testing, in general. But, please note that within the above article is contained some great myths about marijuana. US Drug Czar John Walters is also quoted making several unfair comparisons, and illusory comments while speaking to the Press in England after meeting with Jim Knight, a British education minister. Feel however you want about the Drug War, or Marijuana, or other “illegal” and “legal” substances and prohibition, but there is no need to lie or exaggerate in order to try to prove a political point. It’s not “responsible behavior”, Mr. Walters. More on this later, if I have time… – Michelle]
